I have had a problem with FS9 and Copilot FSinn programs that it wouldn't connect to the Lobby after I started the control panel, worked fine with FSX and I had the proper downloads of the programs. I just downloaded and installed the new Winndows 7 release for trial and after re installing FS9&FSX and all the Copilot FSinn stuff FS9 is now connecting to Lobby and I can see all the craft in the air and on the ground, big plus for the new operating system for sure, I have read blogs and they say that the Aintvirus Avast was the culrpit and after uninstalling it on my Vista Copilot was ok but I have it on Windows 7 and it still works fine so my conclusion is Vista was the problem.

I thought Windows 7 was just a rebadged Vista with updates.

Might be I am no expert but I am finding the Release Windows 7 that I have installed works great and even my computer is working better now the drives respond faster and actually will do what I want them to do
I am sold on it so far just waiting for the actual software to come out now.

Mark your calendar for Oct. 22 / 09 as that is the official release date for Windows 7.

From what I've heard as well, the higher end versions (Ultimate...and Business I think?) will also come with a downgradeable Windows XP license that will allow users to continue on with XP and then go back to Windows 7 should they choose for up to 18 months, or, the first Windows 7 service pack - whichever comes first.

I've got Vista Ultimate right now running on my system and it's "ok" but doesn't have the nice feel of XP. I've also been testing WIndows 7 and to me it's a winner so far, especially the newest RC as you mention.

Cheers!
