Yes, Free...
Quote: The Flight Crew Examinations division has invalid Toronto, Moncton and Winnipeg VFR Navigation Charts (VNC) that are no longer being used for their written examinations. If you are interested in receiving these free charts, please contact Chantal Avon by e-mail at avonc@tc.gc.ca with your request. A maximum of 30 charts will be sent for each order. http://www.tc.gc.ca/CivilAviation/General/Exams/Map.htm
And the best thing, no charge for postage... Mine are in the post (and yes, I requested multiple sets)
VNC charts will be invaluable for the new pilot training scheme - I ordered 10 sets of charts so I have some extras to distribute amongst CVA'ers - but if you can get your own set (or 10) then they pay the postage, not me, and we have more to spread around.
Not often you get something for free from a Government office, but I see no catch with this one!

I ordered a pair of each too. But those are VFR charts, wouldn't they be different than IFR? (as in lacking homing information)

Yes they are different than IFR charts. In the real world these charts are mainly used by general aviation pilots. They can be used to fly VFR on VATSIM (although the topography/terrain would look different in Flight Simulator).

Good Morning Robert, Unfortunately, we no longer have any VNCs left. Sorry for the inconvenience. Have a wonderful day. Chantal

Nah, thanks, it's ok. Every day I'm finding out I have more stuff to learn. I used to fly VFR only, now I'm learning proper IFR using the Dash-8 instead of the Cessna 172.
I hang in ATC on remote airports and listen in, getting familiar with the phrases.
I finally got the phonetic alphabet down last night but it needs improvement, I'm still too slow.
I was sure FS-2004 was dead when I bought FS-X. But I reinstalled FS-9 when I noticed how hard FS-X was on my latest gamer (Q6600 with two 9600 GT in SLI). And even FS-2004 isn't running at max.
