Presently on an extended set of flights, taking the Majestic Dash 8 Q400 Pro around the world. Left from CYXC and flew across Canada, then to Greenland, Iceland, Scotland, south-east England, France, Greece, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Pakistan, India, Nepal (Katmandu), back to India, Through SE Asia, Austrailia and now in NZAA. Off to NWWW if all goes well tomorrow. Rest of flight is planned, lots more to go before I get back to CYXC.

Will get back to CVA flights soon. Having fun.

Yes I am, did a trip this morning that was fun, dodging thunderstorms along the way and finding a way into the airport around them. Managed to land ok, but a steep descent to make it as I couldn't fly a correct approach. Tomorrow back to Australia as I couldn't pick a route that was ok for the Dash.

Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea to Darwin, Australia this AM, dodging thunderstorms most of the way. Using ActiveSky X for weather. Then lunch break and Darwin to Makassar, Indonesia. AWWW in Indonesia. Again thunderstorms after takeoff then clear flight for most of the distance till close to AWWW when there were multiple small T-storms in the way. Wavy flight around the main storms and then a great landing.

On line the whole way on both flights with no other aircraft etc. anywhere near me. Sure glad I have a rotary control for rudder trim, this bird needs attention to rudder trim, otherwise you start to slip through air. Hopefully my new screenshot program will be learned by tomorrow so I can start to take some shots.

Well done on your epic journey!
Vatsim coverage can be quite thin in Aussie land, remember you are 15 hours out of sync and on another day down there. I don't know how those Quantas pilots remember which day they have to come into work :D .
It would be nice to see more of us out there on Vatsim.
As I write this I see you over Japan, keep it up! you are almost there.

Regards,
Pete

Today did the flight from UHPP to PADK, very dark and stormy night most of the way. Climb out was rough enought that the autopilot disconnected and had to hand fly for a bit. Not an easy aircraft to fly in rough air!
Couple of aircraft went by high above me. No ILS into PDK and had to do a blind, hope to heck when I got out of the clouds I could see the airport landing. All went well, broke out quite a bit to the left of the runway but made it ok. Again, an airport with a long taxi from the runway to the parking area.

Only one shot today, the moon over the trusty Dash 8 Q400 at FL250.

All finished the flights, made it to CYXC where I was when I decided to do this marathon. Last fhree flights were from CYXT to CYXS, CYXS to CYKA, and CYKA to CYXC to finish it all off. First flight is a normal CVA flight so booked that one. Actually blew a tire on landing in Prince George the day before, lost too much airspeed at the end of final and when I went to flare I stalled the bird and hit hard... blew a right mains tire. Managed to keep the bird on the runway but had to be towed to parking. Sorry about that boss, new tire required.

Climbing above CYXT, west take off so turn back after climbing to safe height

Climbing over CYKA after takeoff, again SID takes you west till you climb to safe altitude

Epic Journey Rod!!!

Glad to see you back in the air and enjoying the sims again! Wish I had the time to do the same but life has been challenging lately. I've also been spending a lot of time on a WWII Multiplayer online sim called "Aces High" by HiTech Creations. It takes up a lot of my time nowadays when I have spare time :)

One of these days I'll get the old birds fired back up and log a sim flight. It's been far too long...

Cheers!
