Just a question regarding the times and routes as scheduled... Are we to follow those? Or can I fly any route between two airports? I ask because a) the times aren't always convenient (real time) or desirable (Sim time) and b) route is necessarily good either. For example one flight from castlgar to prince Albert (I think) is listed as a bit over 300nm on the schedule, but the route as listed is actually well over 800nm... Huge difference there.
Edit: also I assume schedule times are UTC and not local?

No, the scheduled times are only a decoration of the flight routes.
