Hi Folks, I was just over at Avsim today and caught wind of a really cool little app for Android devices!! It is called 737 Virtual CDU Beta. It is a two part app, one part installed on the android device, the other a small server app on the FS computer. What it does is allow you to have your CDU or FMC displayed on your android device and connected to FS. I tested it with the wife's eReader, a 7" KOBO Vox with touchscreen and it worked excellent with the PMDG 737 NGX. It is also supposed to work with the iFly 737 but she caught me and made me uninstall it before I could test it... I did snap a few pics of it though... Here is the ereader in front of the monitor showing the FMC being displayed!! Paging through a few screens... And another screen... I must say that there was no lag between the tablet and the PC. I would press a button to change the page and it was changed before I could divert my eyes to the monitor. A really cool app and I will be going shopping for a touchscreen ereader or tablet tomorrow. I would suggest an 8" screen as a bare minimum. The 7" on the wife's Kobo was just a tad too small. I put it on my Samsung Galaxy 2 phone first but it is way too small for these tired old eyes. Compared to spending a minimum of $500 for a separate FMC to connect to FS, a $150 tablet at Walmart with a free app sounds a whole lot better!!

The wife has a Kobo Vox (even the same colour as the one you have) but she swears she left it at work by mistake today. I may try it on my 4.7" HTC oneX but doubt your eyes are as tired as mine so I may have to run out and get a tablet real soon. Good catch!

too bad it's not a free FMC to be used for any Plane, I would be really interested if it was for that.

I'll have to go shopping if it comes out for the MD11. If it comes out on the iPad the wife will be so disappointed.

I have been in contact with the developer of this app in regards to what happens after the Beta. He has confirmed that it will be going to a paid app and they are targeting around the $20 range. As well, the finished app is supposed to support more aircraft including iFly, Prosim, Project Magenta and they are looking at skins and support for Airbus. Time to go shopping for a new tablet for sure!!

Excellent find. So now you're forcing me to get at least 2 tablets; FMC and radio.
