Ok. took the plunge and purchased the iFly 737NG for FSX. So far I'm loving it.Looked closely at the also the PMDG 737NGX and decided it would require a computer upgrade.

Are you saying that iFLY offers much less frame impact than PMDG?

I don't know about that. I got the PMDG NGX a week or so ago and I am running locked at 30 frames and it is butter smooth on my two and half year old rig. I have flown two revenue flights using CVAcars with no issues at all. The only thing I miss on the NGX is the ability to pull up a 2D pedestal window. I do most of my flying in 2D but even bouncing back to the virtual cockpit results in no loss of frame rates. Exterior views are every bit as fluid!

All in all, I am quite pleased with the NGX!! :D

I don't know about fps difference between iFly and PMDG but my main concern is that I am primarily a 2d panel pilot.
The iFly 3d cockpit looks to be very good but until I buy an I-Track unit of some sort I will primarily use 2d.
I am able to get a pretty constant 20 fps with all sliders maxed except for weather and fps will drop below 10 around busy airports.

As a RW type rated 737-200C ATP, I have both. Personally I'm happy right now with the Ifly. The Ifly has a version for Fs9, FSX and Prepar3D and the Official go from Lockheed. That go and support PMDG doesn't have. So three sims is very impressive. Frames are fluid for me. Rendering AC vs Scenery rendering is equal and fluid with Ifly. She mixes a good amount of European and American Operational procedures and with the free upgrade to FP pack you get a very accurate braking logic tied with the autobrake and brake type. That isnt in the PMDG NGX. Time will tell if they have time to patch or upgrade the NGX with so much on there platter.

Thanks ryana and chuck that link is amazing I already had a decent frame rate with hardly any if any stuttering but these tweeks really made my fsx run that much smoother. See its things like this that probably half the people on here know about but is a life saver to anyone knew There should be a newbe sticky some where that has how to setup fsinn the right way, this tweek, what addons are a must, first things to purchase. What not to purchase. Cause searching through the site is hard and you have to read through hundreds of post and by that time you just missed out 2 or 3 hours of possible vatsim training. Just an idea.
