As for #5, I am not sure I agree. Seems that it is the average that counts, which is figured out using whatever distance you flew, no?
I just figured if I got into a "convoluted" STAR for KABE, more fuel would be used because of extended flap settings and engine speed, were a "straight-in" approach would use less fuel. Otherwise, you may be correct.
