Hi Darryl,

Apologies, I didn't realize that I can actually use CVAcars with X-Plane using the XPUIPC plugin. I just bid on a flight and was able to connect CVAcars. Haven't started flying yet - probably will do it at night and see if the log gets captured properly.

I wish there was a section in the forum specific to X-Plane users explaining these step by step.

BTW, there seems to be some double counting on my flights. I have flown 2 flights so far CVA2008 and CVA2037. But in the pilot roster it says 3 flights with 4.07 hours. Can you please correct it?

Thanks for all the help.
Regards,

Hi Indrajit!

Oh that is fantastic news and never heard of that before! I hope it works and if it does then please share with us the details.

Out of curiosity I installed XAcars and played with it offline yesterday and today and finally got it to submit a pirep. I see exactly the same results as you so it is an issue with the XAcars client itself. If that XPUIPC plugin works and you can get CVAcars working then that will be so much simpler and I am curious to know how that works out!

We can create a new forum specific to XPlane users as it seems this will become more popular moving forward and so having a dedicated forum to that is a useful place to put this and other future info as it relates to XPlane.

Look forward to hearing / seeing your results!

Cheers!

Hi Indrajit!

Well you seem to have reignited some passion in my flight simulator as I went out and purchased X-Plane 11 last night and got it setup and working today. WOW!!! What a fantastic product compared to what it was many years ago! It will definitely give MSFS a run for it's money in the long term and I like what I see so far.

GOOD NEWS!!!

I also installed the XPUIPC client and CVAcars not only connected but it worked like a charm recording my flight and log details! So looks like you are good to go!

Look forward to seeing your next flight log!

Cheers

:D :D :D :D :D :D

Awesome. I trying hard to find some time around my busy schedule to log my next flight.

Have fun with XP 11... When you get tired, do visit the forums: http://forums.x-plane.org/.

BTW, did you get a chance to check why the roster is saying 3 flights in my name?

I'm not sure why the flights are off. possibly a bug with the website when I rejected and then re-approved the flight. Looks like now I was able to get it to show 2 flights but the hours are still off.
I may have to go digging to fix that but no worries otherwise :)

Cheers!

Hey Indrajit,

Looks like you got your CVAcars working and I just approved your most recent flight! I noticed though that this was a 1 hour flight but it took almost 3 hours to complete? I say you had the simulator paused for a few minutes but not to the exten it should have cause that much delay.

Did you fly a DH6 or if not what aircraft? The logs look to say you were in a DH6-300.

Just trying to figure this out (and the flight times are still off by 1.5ish hours so I suspect it double booked that flight I rejected then re-approved causing the discrepancy).

Cheers!

I think he may have changed the time while in flight. Just a thought.

That is indeed peculiar. Here is what my X-Plane's log captured:

2 170713 CYHZ CYQM 2 1.0 0.0 0.0 0.8 DHC63L Twin Otter

A total of 1 hour of flight, out of which 0.8 was cross-country. It couldn't have been 3 hours. The big jump is happening between autopilot engaging and dis-engaging. I didn't notice this earlier. I am using a DHC-6-300 which I downloaded from this website:

http://aeropedro.despair.ch/Aeropedro/DHC.html

Also the time was changed before I started the flight and not during (I fixed the time in the New Flight Menu).

That is very strange...

I flew a small flight in offline mode the other day using a Baron and it recorded normally so not sure. We'll need to keep an eye on this.

Cheers!
