Is this happening to anyone else?

DAMN it's frustrating to be several hours into a flight and then the plane just spins uncontrollably until it bounces off the ground.

I have no idea why, everything is normal, no warnings, just spin till splat. I was going TNCM-CYQB and crazies happened a few minutes before reaching BDA.

No unusual software is started while this happens. I googled but coudn't see any relevant post from others.

Steer clear of the Left side when avoiding a hurricane with Civilian/Commercial AC. The left side will tear you a new one.

Uh oh...

I noticed wind varied from 5-20, nothing excessive. But I do have real world weather enabled, eeek.

I was working on the FMC when it happened, the wind could have spiked and I never noticed.

When you say left, you mean west?

It's kind of important when you're flying south.

Since wind is a 2-digit field in FS-X, I suppose 99knots is FS-X's way of saying DON'T GO THERE, YOU NUT!

That could have been 150knots and up.

EDIT: I suppose I'll ask, can't we fly over a hurricane? Or do those suckers extend up as far as there is air?

I figured my problem; enterring RIDAM without speed/altitude restrictions.

I saved a flight with FMC data and can put RIDAM in and take it back out without problems as long as I include spd/alt. The instant I try to put it in without, the plane goes crazy.

You may fly up and over a hurricane, but always stay away from the western side and keep in eye on your distance and turbulance if you plan to get near the eye, don't cross direct over the eye, fly east of the eye. You want to exit a hurricane at 1 o'clock to 2 for a range.
