Shalom and greetings all my pals,

The automatic log in function of this new forum is not working. I need to log in and put in password every time I go into forum despite the fact that I had activated automatic log in function.

It is an SSL certificate problem. I will contact the host about getting it cleared up.

Apparently it is not an SSL problem. I have managed to get it to work correctly in Internet Explorer 8 by tracking down the canadianva.com cookie and deleting it. After that, it seems to be respecting the auto login. I am still struggling to find the issue with Firefox.

Interestingly, even if you login, then go somewhere else but keep the same window open, you are not logged in when you return to this site via bookmark.....

Also, the site knows that I am on the site - it lists me as being on the site at the bottom of the window - even when I have to login to post.

You remain listed as on the site even after you have left for up to five minutes. What browser are you using? I found that with Internet Explorer, the cookie set by the forum has an expiry date that matches what is set in the board settings but in Firefox it says that the cookie is set to expire with the session. For now, I am thinking it is a problem with Firefox.

If you are using Internet Explorer, find your cookie folder and find the cookie listed as [username]@canadianva.com and delete it. Log onto the forum selecting to remember you and see if that helps.

I have tried deleting the cookies abd still I must login every time. The difference is I am using explorer 7

I think the problem is that the forums is not giving a cookie. What I have done is deleted all my cookies and logged into the forums to see what cookie showed up and there was nothing. The CVA website is giving a cookie but not the Forums.

This automatic log in is working this time and I did not do anything special to my Firefox. Seems that it solved the problem by itself.
