Ok So My FS2004 Is running ok. However the odd time i get a crash saying; "your computer has run out of virtual memory and flight sim....." But i have changed the maximum virtual memory and it should work fine.

However still get the exact same error!

Please help,

-Thomas. :thumbsup:

Shot in the dark, have you ever defragmented your drives?

And if you do, do it multiple times until it's practically immediate, MS is sloppy and needs more than one pass to do it properly.

Can you take a screen print of your virtual memory panel? Maybe there's something there that isn't right.

Hmm, that should be good, but then again that looks like Win 7.

I use Win XP Home 32bit and have:

Initial: 3069
Maximum: 4092

Recommended 3837
Currently allocated: 3069

So what you have there should in theory be enough.

One thing I notice with yours is that there is no room for fluctuations. I have no idea if Windows changes the pagefile size as it goes along, but the custom size option suggests that it might be a good idea to have room for maneuvering a bit.

At worse, put the recommended as initial, and then double that for the maximum.

Try running task manager on Performance tab in the background as you run FS and see how much load you have running back there. That will show CPU and pagefile usage (at least it does in Win XP).

If you have nothing going past 50% there, then you might want to consider running a performance tool for your graphics card to see if you have some sort of bottleneck there.

Generally, it's a lot easier on a PC to run in Windowed mode, forums are full of problems with full screen mode (for all sorts of different reasons).

You didn't have a lot of other applications running in the background did you?

I run windowed because when I don't it makes my second screen go dark. But I tried because I heard the performance is better in full screen.

Ok, Well on 7 i can choose to run it in compatibility mode for Windows XP, Could try that?

This bit for Rob...

Rob, I used to get the sort of same problem, Try going into the aircraft panel.cfg's and find:

Quote:
render_3d_window=1

try changing it to

Quote:
render_3d_window=0

Worked for me when my screen used to go black at the top, bottom and sides.
