Hey folks,

I'm fairly new here, just flew my fourth flight a couple of nights ago, and I'm confused by the comments I got when my PIREP was submitted. It was flight 2024, CYQI to KBOS in a Q300 (which is what I flew) but apparently, I flew a jet? That was one funny-looking jet if that was the case, then... ;)

Anyway, I can't see anything in the report that indicates I flew anything other than a Dash-8, so I'm just wondering what was going on here. I don't want to have future PIREPs not accepted due to similar problems...

For me what I saw is your flight is at 29000 ft. The service ceiling of a Dash 8 is 25000 ft. ???

Oh by the way welcome to CVA David. I hope I did not disappoint you with this I go through many pireps and when I see things that are not normal I wanted to write a note. There was one note about “Something is wrong with your beginning and ending points in your flight.” This was the PHVMS program had a bug that when I edited the report the ending airport would disappear and the report would show beginning airport and ending airport the same.

Sorry for the late reply on this (I've been out of town) but thanks for the responses. Now that I think about it, I may have screwed up and entered FL290 in my flight plan, so CVA evidently flies magical, super-Q300s. ;)

No idea why the fuel consumption is so strange, though. It seemed pretty normal when I flew it.

Hey David, is it possible you might have taken too much fuel for the trip? Or maybe acidentally added too much payload or something. Or maybe our CVA mechanics didn't tune the engines properly and they're just drinking fuel :D (just joking) anywho, welcome to VA and im sure theres a reasonable explanation for your fuel consumption!
