I had some real strange computer woes this week.
On Tuesday evening I was just about to check my e-mails and the power company decided to do some repair work down the road (without telling anybody, sheesh).
Anyhow, this caused my hard drive to crash and I couldn't open up "windows" at all. So , with a lot of messing around I finally got into BIOS and I ended up having to Format.

Now , I got everything working properly , all except ServInfo and VATSpy. (BTW, I did install .Net Framework 2.0)

Both programs open up as normal but they just will NOT connect to the servers.

The weird thing is , I installed ServInfo on the other computer, that I have on my network , and it works over there perfectly.

The only thing I see that is different is now I have Service Pack 3 on this computer, and the computer (where ServInfo is working) has Service Pack 2. Could this have something to do with it? :O

Any ideas would be appreciated, Thanks !

Hey Marty, is it trying to connect but then says something about cannot find server? In Servinfo if it is doing this, you probably have to update the server list, but I'll be dammed if I can remember how to do it. If you hunt around it should say on the servinfo site maybe. Or maybe that was squawkbox, mind is gettin weak with age. I know when we had the vatsim outage the other weekend, I used "SHIFT + Vatsim button" in other words, hold shift, and click the vatsim icon download dealy. Hope that helps a bit.

Thanks Rick, but I'm ot really sure what you mean there , but when I open the program , it begins to load and just when I think it's going to connect to the servers , I get this screen ;

I try different servers and it just keeps giveing me this. I get the same kind of message with VATSpy telling me the same type of thing.

Try turning off your firewall, and see what happens.

check your system time in the BIOS and the control panel

I agree with Frank, looks like your date is off by a day (since it says the data is 24 hours and 1 minute old)

You got it right Dan ! That was indeed the cause of the problem .

During the multi flight I mentioned the problem and Eugene Graham CVA077 came up with that solution , and now it is all working.

I went to the clock down on my taskbar , double clicked it , and set the right time in there. It was on the wrong day.

Thanks for that ! :cool:

:D Yeah ! Somehow , that Frank seems to have a habit of fixing my plane whenever I break it. He's a very handy guy to have around , isn't he?

He could be labeled " Vice President and Chief Mechanic " ! :laugh:
