I had to reinstall FS9 and now for some reason I cannot connect to multiplayer with either FSInn or SB4. I am not on a router and get the message "Multiplayer failed to launch! Cannot connect to Host" or close to that. Not sure what I did to screw up what was an excellent FS before but if anyone has encountered this please let me know what you did.

Hi Mike, Last Saturday night , when I connected for the multi flight, I had s similar problem, however I did get connected. I'm not so sure what I did to correct it though. I'm using FS9 and SB3. It seems that when I got the message " Multiplayer Failed to Launch " , I was in windows mode and I minimized the page and when I brought it back up the message was gone , and suddenely I was connected. I knew this because the weather updated in Squawkbox and then all the on/line ATC frequency's appeared. I thought this was indeed weird , and I don't know what I did to make that "Multiplayer Failed to Launch" screen disappear, other than just "wait" a minute or two.
FYI , I am using a Linksys router and I was thinking that this problem my be because of that , but now that you say you've had this problem I'll rule that out.
I wonder if this is due to something that the servers or Vatsim is is doing.

Hi Mike,
You indicate that you are not using a router but are you using some sort of Antivirus security center like McAfee or Norton? Quite often these will block ports and may also be causing the problem. You may need to put in an exception for FS9.exe or open the ports through it.
Cheers!

I have tried it without any AntiVirus/Firewall installed with the same results. I find now thanks to Dan Pergau that I let the connect attempt time out and then go to FS, start and join a session using 127.0.0.1 and it works on both FSInn and SB4. Go figure. Thanks anyway fellas.

127.0.0.1 Points the session to your own computer. Somehow something must not be set right so doing it manually makes it work. ???
