I recently flew a A320 from PANC-UHMM thinking that I was OK to do this because the route was listed to be flown with a A320.

I was later advised that this route was a Class 4 route, and I am only allowed to fly Class 3 routes at this time.

Is there a simple way for me to know what is a Class 3 route and what is a Class 4 route, so as not fly the wrong route in the future. Am I to understand that the aircraft being flown has no bearing on the route Class (3/4)?

TIA.

The flight that you flew with the A320 was actually scheduled with the A340.

You should always fly an aircraft in the same class as the one requested in the flight schedule. You do not have to fly the same exact aircraft as long as the one you use is the same class.

Hi George,
Check out the new thread for "Routes and Class Designations" ... this should help.
