The autobrakes don't seem to work in the 737. They work fine in my non-CVA planes so I'm pretty certain it's not pilot error. Does anyone know how to fix this? I haven't tested the other CVA heavies yet to see if it's just the 737 (not an airbus fan).

(There is also no VC in the 737 either. Not sure if there should be).

I haven't really tried the autobrakes yet, I'm still googling for complete cold start procedures. So far all I see refers to CTRL-E.

In the meantime, I do CTRL-E, stop engines, shut down everything and save the flight. Whatever extra function auto-start does in the background gets saved, but I'd really like to be able to do that extra function myself if I can find it.

Not sure if you use FSX or not but here's a good tutorial for a 737-800 cold start.

I haven't checked the video yet, but I did notice something while I was doing some tests in-flight. There's 2 fuel pump valves of some sort under the throttle controls on the engine panel. They seem to work in combination with the start valves I already had assigned to my throttle quadrant

I did notice something funky with auto-brakes when I landed in Toronto just now. I couldn't turn them off once the plane had stopped. I made it to an off-ramp and parked it there. I didn't want to rip of the landing gear and lose the flight.

Was that with the 737? Does your 737 have a virtual cockpit?

Yup, 737 in FS-X, I'm using 2D cockpit.

I like 2d cockpit better :) Although virtual is good to look around :D I haven't used any of our large planes yet b/c im not allowed to fly them yet :p, but is it bad if you just manually apply the breaks if auto-brake is problematic?

No it's not bad. I use the manual brakes pretty often but if it's raining or I have a short runway I like to rely on the autobrakes on the 737's 757's and 747's. I'm just wondering why mine don't work on the 737. Is there an adjustment I have to make on the config. file?

That could be a possibility, perhaps the auto-break coding or file (im not too good with this stuff) isen't there or a possible error in the coding?

I did some gauges for the DC-4, I could look into the gauge file and see if it's a coding problem. Which aircraft and is it the default panel? I take it that it's FSX.

It is FSX and it's the default panel that came with the CVA 737. Is there supposed to be a VC?

Cal, is it possible to take a look at the overhead panel too? The 4 landing light switches on the bottom left are upside-down and the 3 light switches on the bottom right don't work. I use "L" to turn on everything and then turn off whatever I don't want.

I don't know if these work in the default plane.

I have checked out the default FS X 737-800 panel our CVA737-800 uses this panel also and it is in need of a lot of repair. I don't see any way to start the engines without using "CTRL E" the light switches are backwards, door lights don't work, and quite a few more problems. can't believe MS released it like this. It is fixable but a big job. probably faster to find a good 737 panel at AVSIM.COM or FLIGHTSIM.COM. as I am in the middle of painting a Caribou, making a MD-11 panel, and making revisions to the DC-4 panel, but if you want to wait, it can be on the list...... I use FS-9 :D

Unfortunately, freeware offerings come "as is". Where there are issues that we can resolve, we will make every attempt to do so. In the case of the FSX 737-800, we could modify the necessary files to fix the outstanding snags.

To do this would mean copying the necessary panel files from the default 737-800, modifying them and then uploading them to the site for the end user to download.

We cannot do this. This would be a direct Violation of the End User License Agreement. This is something that Microsoft would take a dim view of.

As such, I will not be making any modifications to default files and I will not allow any default files to be uploaded to the site.

There's one thing I don't get though. Those that make new planes, don't they start from existing MS files to make the panels though?

I've never looked at how these files work. Is there a good tutorial somewhere on how to edit these ourself? The 737 is such a fun plane, it's a waste to jsut hurry through my license to get to the next plane.

And yeah, it's unbelievable that MS released this plane with so many bugs on the panel. I had only listed the apparent ones.
