I just downloaded the CVA Kingair 350 for FS9 from the CVA web site. I'm happy to report that it installed without any glitches so far. Will other users see the cool paintjob?

My main question is - I noticed that it is labelled as shareware. Does this mean I should pay for it (i.e., it is not freeware) if I decide to keep and use it? So who would I pay, and how much?

Rob

No, you need not pay for that one.

The reason it is listed as shareware is because the copyright for the plane is held by someone else. In the case of the B350, microsoft. So you can't take the plane and bundle it up on a CD and sell it yourself.

If it is listed as Freeware, then the assumption is that it belongs to the public, meaning that you, Rob, could do whatever you want with it, including selling it for a profit.

So it's really just a legal issue is all.

All of the aircraft on the CVA site that are listed as shareware are FREE to use, but someone else owns the rights to them.

Clear as mud?

Yup :O

By the way, the blurb for this a/c (in the Select aircraft screen in FS9) says the Cruise Speed is 315 kts but the kneeboard says the max operating speed is 263 KIAS. The barber pole stops at 263 too. Any idea where 315 comes from? I certainly can't get speeds greater than 260 or so in straight and level flight.

cheers

Might be ground speed Rob. Never really used that plane much, but that would be my guess.
