I downloaded this last night and fired it up. Nice bird! I liked that autoinstaller, sweet.

I did have a problem with the 2D panel though. As I moved my mouse around on the panel I got some very distracting flickering. Both the panel and area outside the plane flickered. Instruments would flicker to parked positions, and outside would flicker to show the place I started from on the runway even though I was actually flying. Any ideas? ???

Sure...you are running an Nvidia video card.

Well known problem...the best way to avoid it is to turn off tool tips. I am not sure if the latest drivers will fix it or not.

Okay, well now I know what's the cause. Thank you for such a quick reply! I'll go tinkering now.

If it is any help Paul, I am running an Nvidia too, a 7950GT with 512 meg. I have NHancer with Forceware 182.50 drivers. I have not seen this issue since I switched to the Forceware 182.50 drivers.

I have a similar problem with "flickering" while flying with FS2004. I'm using the nVidia 9800GTX 512 card(s), I have two installed, so was wondering what is meant by "turn off tool tips" ? Is this an application within the FS9 software ? Would love to get rid of this annoying flickering problem.

Tks. for any help/info .

Clay

Go to Options/Settings/General and deselect the Cockpit Tooltips check box. :)

I went into the Options/Settings/General and found that the Cockpit Tool Tips check box was blank so it's looks like that isn't the cause of "my" problem. Oh, well , not gonna worry over it too much , better to spend more time learning to fly the B1900D: Air King 350 and all those other great planes required in the CVA flight schedule program.

Thanks for the reply. ,,,,,,,,,,,, Clay

Hey Clay,

What version of the NVidia drivers are you running? I have the same card and don't seem to be having any problems with flickering...

Let me know and we'll compare notes.

Cheers!

Hi Darryl ,

This is the Graphics card(s) information , hope it's what you were asking for:

GeForce 9800 GTX+ Driver Version: 182.06
GeForce 9800 GTX+ Stream processors: 128
Core clock: 756MHz
Shader clock: 1836 MHz
Memory clock: 1123 MHz (2246 MHz data rate)
Memory interface: 256-bit
Memory: 512 MB
Video BIOS version: 62.92.64.00.80
IRQ: 24
Bus: PCI Express x 16 Gen2

I have to admit I don't know a whole lot about what the above information means so
that's why I've included everything I saw in the components/details information window.

Thanks for replying to my post. I appreciate any help/information that is directed my way.

Clay

Thinking....thinking....what was it now...... ???

Ah yes, now I remember...

Options/Settings/Display

Hardware tab, deselect Render to texture.

See what that does for you.

I also recommend nHancer as well to get the most out of your video experience.

Have made that change , settings now look like this::

Target frame rate: 20
Display resolutions: 800x 600 x 16
Render to texture: deselected ( it was selected)
Transform & Lighting: selected
Anti-aliasing: selected
Filitering: Bilinear < is this ok because I may have changed it by mistake >
MIP mapping quality: 4
Hardware-rendered lights: 6
Global max texture size: High ( appears to be around 75%)

Not sure what you mean by nHancer ??

Thanks for information , will give it a try !!

Hi Clay,

I'm running a newer version of the drivers - 185.81. Give the settings change a go first that Chuck mentioned and see how that works for you. If you still have problems you may want to upgrade your drivers to a newer version.

I'm also running Vista Ultimate edition - 64 bit.

Cheers!
