Ok, is it me or do these to aircraft have "MAJOR" BUGS !

Last night I decided to attempt my first flight in a class 3 Aircraft, as I have know completed all of my Class 1 & 2 flights.

First I tried the A330, and discovered it is not very well behaved when turning off slew mode. With no engine's running, I was given clearance to push back and start. Which I did with the slew. No Problem, until I hit "Y" again to turn it off. The A330 took off like a shot in a forward direction with no way to stop it, until it hit something. "A little embarassing to say the least". I was unalbe to correct this problem and decided to see if the 767 was better behaved. "Yes, GREAT"

Did I speak to soon, "YES". Went through the clearence procedure again, and pushed back to start. Then start my engines, and prepare to taxi. All of a sudden all my instrurments went blank. I was not able to get them back, without reseting FS2004. It wasn't like I had just turned off the Avionics, everything went blank, Just grey windows were the instruments should have been and were secounds before.
Problem would return about 3 mins later.

Anyone, have any solutions ??? :(

This is a problem with some aircraft. Easily rectified by not using "slew" mode to push back. Use the pushback function included in FS - SHIFT + P. This will push you straight back. If you want to turn, then it's SHIFT+P+1 to turn left and SHIFT+P+2 to turn right.

Didja turn the alternators/generators ON?

That's a problem with alot of panels out there, not all switches are included.

Cheers!

TOM, pushback works but it won't turn. I tried every key.
@ least I can backup, just have to be careful were I park.

some aircraft panels seem to knock out the turn function for some reason - or you've changed a key assignment and not known it...

There are some freeware pushback gauges out there (don't get the 'slew' ones) that should work better for you.

Thanks, I was reading on gauges somewere a while back and the guy explained how to install guages and switchs to your panel, and assign them to anything you want. Know if I can just find it again. I could fix the 767 Gen switch. I remember it wasn't that hard......

I downloaded a F16 Jet to try and soon found out they are not my thing, but reading the tutorial the author said to always hit F1 to put the throttles to idle or it will take off and hit some thing like you say and yes it's embarrassing and he says it's a bug in Flight sim if this helps you .

Hey Katron,

In regards to your pushback as Tom said you need to use the following key sequence (his explanation might have been a little confusing):

1) Press Shift P to begin your pushback
2) Right after that press either #1 or #2 key to turn left or right respectively.

You need to press the number key almost immediately afterwards for the pushback to work correctly. If there is a delay it tends not to work so well. So, do the above, wait patiently. It takes about 7 - 10 seconds for the straight portion of the pushback to complete and then the plane will swing left / right depending on the number you pressed.

Good Luck!

Ok thanks much :) I'll try both idea's and see what happens, although I found pushing straight back works if you got the room.
