I dont think what you see is AI, Vatsim doesnt have AI due to bandwidth issues.
the only planes you should see on Vatsim are other peoples aircraft.
If your dodging AI on your computer, nobody else can see them, you will probably piss someone off,
if your waiting for AI to take off and they are waiting for you to take off. I've had this happen a few times.

I think CVA should have a policy to have AI turned off. so we aren't pissing people off!

They used to have computer generated aircraft for testing, but these are rare. I think they called them "ROBOTS"
I also turn mine off while online. also crash detection.

Exactly, THIS IS CALLED LIVE VATSIM AI TRAFFIC In other words, the planes that I see on Vatsim which are other people's aircraft is called LIVE Vatsim AI traffic consisted of planes flown by other Vatsim members and their planes are always in VIP livery which is standard for live Vatsim AI traffic with rare exception of some Vatsim members being lucky to have their planes displayed in airline liveries instead of Vatsim livery called VIP.

Why don't you write a letter to Vatsim president telling him that he must issue a new rule for all FSINN users to turn off their AI traffic? We Sqwkbox users do not have problem or why don't you tell everybody to dump FSINN and use Sqwkbox 4.0 so that you will not be pissed.

I think you are confused by different meanings of AI traffic. Vatsim AI traffic means LIVE planes with VIP or real airline liveries flown by other Vatsim pilots logged on Vatsim. AI Traffic can mean FSX default AI traffic or World of AI traffic or Traffic X or so on that has NOTHING to do with Vatsim AI traffic.

Let me give you good example. I am cruising at FL350 and I see another LIVE Vatsim AI traffic plane with call sign CVA4532. I usually say on unicom or on any airport controller's frequency "Reporting visual of CVA4532 at his or her FL340." I will get reply from airport controller "Roger no factor for you. Proceed as filed" or from CVA4532 on unicom "Roger I see you too on visual and TSAC".

Hope you understand definition of LIVE vatsim AI traffic which has NOTHING to do with what you are thinking or are under wrong impression.

AI = Artificial intelligence, these are not AI Aaron, these are peoples choices on what livery to show and your computer trying to show that to you
by using the AI liveries in your computer. That's is why the "Paper Airplane" is shown in some, because they didnt make that choice and the computer doesn't
know what to show. Look up AI in the WIKIPEDIA.

VATSIM does not show or have AI traffic, don't confuse people.

I know the way some people fly it seems like IA, but it's not.

Must be a language barrier thing. I've never heard real pilots on Vatsim called "AI". The whole thing is confusing. And you don't need the sliders on to see them.

You are not seeing AI traffic on Vatsim.

You are seeing multiplayer traffic on Vatsim. And they are every bit as unpredictable as the artificial traffic!!!

You fly FS-X offline, SB/FSinn connects to Vatsim servers to get player info, data is sent to FS-X via FSUIPC and show up on your screen as AI planes.

You are not online in the true sense, you did not use Multiplayer. You perceive everyone else as real, but they are AI to FS-X. BUT you must set FS-X 'not' to generate AI.

But then you are online. How do you connect and not tbe online?

FS-X is offline, SB/FSinn is online.

I'm pretty sure FS-X documentation refers to FLY NOW as offline mode.

It's all thanks to the magic of FSUIPC.



Edit: Come to think about it, SB/FSinn docs must mention others players are 'injected' into FS-X as AI aircraft.

So how does CVA rank with the lucky in having their liveries displayed as "live/AI/multiplayer/paper plane/Artificial Intelligence/Live Vatsim/AI Vatsim/LIVE VATSIM AI/Online/Online but not really Online/FS-X offline, SB/FSinn online(not sure on this one but not to offend, adding it anyway)Robot" traffic? I'm sure I've seen the CVA livery several times in screenshots of various multi's.

Personally I can't say because I've never been able to get FSInn or Squawkbox working correctly, which pretty much leaves me to flying offline and pretending to talk to you all (judging by the way you answer me you all seem like very nice people though )
Although I seem to recall getting one of the voice softwares to work without voice at one point and if I recall correctly it prompted me with a dialog about not having my airplane in the database and would I like to add it now so others will see the plane I am flying in? If it is true that all you see is VIP livery though I think I would rather shut that off altogether that would get pretty boring pretty quick.

SB/FSinn come with default livery.

I use FSinn and override the planes of other CVA as I see them. But I haven't looked how to make override permanent.

Multiplayer and Vatsim are just different on-line servers. Chuck - please send me some of your headache medicine.
