Use this with caution, it took out my mike totally on my particular setup. Make sure the little green box at the right does not go red, I didn't and it took me several days to notice that this was the setting that caused me problems.

win 7 pro:

- mike levels were detected in windows.
- XMIT light came on normal in FSinn.
- vatsim atc could not hear me.

That is because they have better softwares to tallk. Virtual airlines use teamspeakers or chat features inside FSCARS.

Good afternoon,

I am preparing to fly on line but I meet some difficulties to connect me with Vatsim.
Before I have read Vatsim tutorial as well as settings of Robert H in the Forum.
When I click on FSCopilot Inn Control Panel in FSX I have a processing aircraft downloading new aircraft info.
About 1001 are downloaded, I presume because I have ultimate Traffic 1.

Then I have the Inn Control as follows

Image

Then when I click on Vatsim button I have the following screen
It seems at that moment that the connection is ok

Image

Then about ten seconds after the Vatsim buttom becomes red
Image

on the FSFDT control panel all diamonds are green except the last on the right "Vatsim voice is enabled, engine not started, you are not connected to Vatsim".

I have not installed a microphone as I would like to communicate with ATC by sending messages through keyboard at the beginning

Thanks for help

J.C

I think your login is incorrect is one possibility (check Pilot ID and password is correct), the other is that since the software came out the Vatsim servers are no good in the installation. Show us a picture of your VATSIM setting

Check your settings and pick one of these IP's

I am trying to fly as much online as possible. So if you see I am logged into VATSIM and do not respond on private channel, please send a private message. I would really like to know if my settings are working or not.

I am also trying to learn the FSInn and for some reason the VATSIM servers do not load on my machine even though I have loaded the correction patch. I had the similar problem. Everything works fine when I place the server IP of a current server manually into the server address.

Good evening and an Happy New Year 2013 to all of you,

I cannot connect to Vatsim as when I click the button is red and 10 seconds after it becomes red.
When I click on Appollo, it seems that I am connecting to this server as per following picture

Image

Can I use this server to fly on line and how?
How can I connect ATC via keyboard?
Thanks

it looks like your trying to connect to the Apollo network, you need to put the closest IP to you in and choose the VATSIM network.
I think USA EAST is closest to you IP= 173.45.78.10 and click on VATSIM.

Good evening,

Franck and Cal, thanks for your help.
It seems now that I managed to connect with Vatsim as the green button stays green
as per the following picture.
I got a message on the chat asking me to enter my full name and surname when log on so I did it
and sent it but no answer.
How at this stage do you communicate with the ground or Tower ?
I put the right Frequence on the radio but I cannot see nothing on ATC.
When do I send My Flight Plan to ATC ?
Sorrry for all these questions but as you know I am starting with Vatsim.

Best Regards

You need a program like VATSPY it will show where the ATC is and then move your aircraft to an airport in their sector
DONT GO TO ACTIVE RWY! :P They will yell at you..... go to a gate at that airport, then connect you will see the ATCs available
tune com 1 to the freq you want and listen for a minute. if you dont hear anything call eg: Vancouver Center CVA(your number here) radio check"
If your not on talking to any ATCs then tune com 1 to 122.80 Let them know your new and if they can they will help out quite a bit.
Most are really good, unless they are busy, try to pick a place where it's not too busy to start. also make sure the "S" in the top portion of the Control Panel is active (Orange)
That means your Squawking Stand-by click it before pushback at your are now squawking so they can see you. click it twice and it will turn to an "I" and then you are squawking "IDENT"

The message when you first come on is a general one, everyone gets it. in the picture you showed it just looks like ATC isnt on

Hi JC, I think you're good now. You only have to learn how to operate it now that you are connected. I haven't used FSInn for quite a while but I'm sure all the things you're looking for are on the right side of your FSInn panel (eg ATC). Good luck. And do read the sticky for FSInn on the Vatsim site. But don't post questions until you've read it, or the guy will bite your head off! :P

Open this window in your FSINN
Image
Enter your ID in box 1
Enter your password in box 2
Enter the proper Vatsim server IP in box 3

If your do not see ATC this means, there is no ATC in your area at this time keep checking sometimes they pop up on line

Allways send Flight Plan if ATC pops up they will have it and know what you are doing, even if you are VFR
