I'm just curious if there's a possibility of adding a Class 3 route between Halifax and Toronto with preferably the 737-800 as default, as there really aren't that many in-Canada flights for that type anyway...and most of the ones that do exist are a wee bit on the long side (3+ hours).

Actually, a few more feeder-to-hub routes for Class 3 a/c would be nice to see. It would give those of us who don't have the hours to fly the shorter Class 4 routes, and want to get some PIC time in something bigger than a CRJ, all while not having to spend 3-4 hours glued to the controls.

Just a thought. I'm patient enough to continue between T-dot and Edmonton if need be. :D

You're right, there aren't many Canuck 737 routes. I see a few short ones, like Montreal-Quebec, but this class is lacking cross-Canada coverage.

I'll see what I can do, just don't hold your breath, this takes a while to get done.

EDIT: The A319 and A320, also class 3, don't have many routes of this type either.

There many 737 flights in Canada, just in the Arctic although  I use my Ifly 737-700 Combi Canadian North one here until a CVA paint comes along. I also use it on the Airbus 319-320 routes as I hate Airbus and IFDG models. I like Project Airbus and modeler Thomas Ruth.

I can't paint the iFly 737 as I don't own that one, but I did just buy the PMDG 738 and 9
and there will be a paint for that one for sure. took it out for a spin last night,
without even reading the manuals, If you can fly the LDS767 or and of the PMDGs
you would have no problem with it. It was great!

No worries. I was just thinking about how there aren't many Class 3 flights and figured I'd bring it up. We seem to be a little heavy on the 767 routes, but not much in the way of getting to that point.

Like I said, I'm patient and have no problem with longer flights in the mean time.

We have a wide variety of 767 routes 'cause that class was totally deficient a few years ago. I yapped too loud after having bought the Level-D 767 and ended up being Routes Manager. :D

Back in February 2010

Halifax hub:
- you could come back from Atlanta, but somehow you couldn't go there.
- anyone going to TJSJ had to stay there.
- same thing with MWCR.

Toronto hub:
- again, some places you couldn't come back.
- and some you couldn't go to in the first place.

Vancouver hub:
- this hub was a mess, mainly cause most routes seemed to be Multis.

And that's what I've been doing since then:
- correcting database inconsistencies/errors.
- removed duplicate routes.
- removed obsolete Multi routes.
- created missing return flights.
- created class 4 routes for Toronto hub.
- created class 3 routes for Dorval.
- reassigned class 4 routes from small airports to larger ones.
- created Montreal hub.
- created class 4 routes for Montreal.
- created class 4 routes for Quebec.
- corrected class for A340 routes.
- created class 4 routes to Carribean destinations from Quebec.
- created local class 4 routes for St Maarten.
- corrected route pricing errors.

And then there's all the cleanup and new routes Cal's been doing to the Vancouver hub, lots of work done there too.

Oh, and then you have to throw in all the work Chuck has been doing in the background; new main site, new forum, new Acars, and then stuff I don't even know about.

There's always going to be a class that will be left behind relative to the others. In time we'll get all of them balanced out, it's just going to take "some" time to get done. Some of the history behind all this can be read here:

And with that being said....

This is why we have such a FANTASTIC VA!!!! The help from the management team and the volunteers has vastly improved our VA, especially over the past couple of years. The amount of work these guys have put in over time I can't say thanks enough. You guys make our VA what it is today.

So - Thumbs up and High 5's to all our support staff - making CVA a better place one day at a time :D

Cheers!

Agreed. Even in the 3 short years since I've been here, this VA has done nothing but get better for all involved. :D

And J-C packed his bags, headed for Quebec and hasn't looked back. :D
