I think it is more in line that we have both major hubs in CYUL and CYYZ and there is no need for flights out of Ottawa...
And if you notice there are flights out of Ottawa to Montreal and CYYZ so that you can connect to the major hubs to continue your west bound flights.

Hi Tim, Welcome to CVA! I saw you on the live map yesterday (or Sunday?) and noticed that you were a very new member. I don't recall ever seeing anyone join up and fly and log a flight on practically the same day! So you weren't flying up north to take advantage of the quiet northern flying environment for your first flight? Your points are good and although I'm not involved in making routes, I'm sure our guys will keep it in mind as they casually work up new routes. Yes, I said casually. We are a group that is dedicated to the long term and all have day jobs etc so we try very hard to not get burned out*. That's why we've lasted all these years. cheers *except out server master Chuck - he's unstoppable!

Well the route is flown with a 737-200. In Fs I use the 737-200 and 737-800. Now a Cargo 767 from first Air does use the run on occasion. Nothing up here jet wise beats the 737 and it's love of the arctic.

Actually there is: CYOW CYFB - YOW N428C YMT J482 YFM J479 VP J561 YFB There's a bug in v8 of FSC, airways disappear at certain zoom levels. Sometimes you have to putz around to find one, and then try to find a label for it. I'm sorry, but I can't put a flight down as Direct, unless it's a short class 1 hop. I know real aviation is doing that now, but I think it sucks when it comes to simming. If we're to simulate EVERYTHING they do, we might as well take-off, do a big circle and land; it'll be the same thing.

Hey Tim, I spent seven months in Iqaluit in 1973 when it was called Frobisher Bay. I was 18 then and got a job working for the Frobisher Inn. I remember flying in to the airport on an L1011 and being surprised to see a frozen wrecked fuselage of a fairly large plane sitting near the end of a runway. Did they ever drag that away. I have really fond memories of my days there

And I'm using FSC9 but jetways still flash on and off depending on what the extent and zoom level of the window. EDIT - it's plainly visible in my first image above too! I'm starting to use FMC regularly. At some point I'll have to pay for it, even though I can't imagine flying with it.

I love FMC, I just have problems enterring victors and jetways, they are often rejected (probably not "exactly" over waypoints).

yeah, are you referring to the FERRY waypoint on J500 outside of YVR? That was wierd. But perhaps a coincidence. Are you saying you see it often? Come to think of it, it happens to me too once in a while that CVA (your FMC routes) routes will not work using the airways, so I just stick to the waypoints in those cases. Maybe that is what's going on.... I'm going to look into this more. I enjoy working on routes.....
