Post subject:  Problem to start a flight

Good morning,

Having some problems with my FSX PC with Windowx XP (all my free and payware sceneries, all my free and
payware aircrafts and all utilities were recorded on this PC), I took another PC I had for others purposes with
Windows 7.
I have installed FSX correctly. I have installed FSUIPC4.939i.
When I enter my CVA ID as well my password I have an error message
Access to c:\program files(x86)\FS products\CVACars\send.xml" is refused.
I am on Administrateur mode.
Thanks for your help.

Hey JC
I find that anything installed in "C:\program files(x86) always gives me grief.
Windows 7 doesn't like stuff starting from there.
I have mine installed in the FSX folder, running as Administrator.

Also make sure that you have full control (permissions)on your "send.XML" and "receice.XML" (both in the CVAcars folder)
Hope this will help you.

Hi Pat, Thanks for your reply.

As I am not an expert in Data Processing, could you give me more explanation regarding the full control on the CVA folder.
Please could you send me the details of how to modify the CVA folder in full permission.

Best Regards

PS. I had XP before and all was OK. For example, with windows 7 I had to find why I could not add sceneries in the last meny of FSX. We had to click right mouse in order for FSX to create the new scenery !!!!!!!!!!!

Hi JC,
I'll try to help you the best I can :)

I would re-install CVAcars in a different folder, like I said in my previous post mine is in my FSX folder and see if that solve your issue.
If it does, time for a beer :) if it doesn't...we'll have a beer anyway and keep trying

Next try this:
-Open the CVAcars folder and right click kACARS.exe
-Select "Properties" and then select "Compatibility" TAB
-Select "Run this program in compatibility mode for" Win XP (since it was working for you.
-Select "Run this program as an administrator"
-Apply
Give that a try and see how it goes.

To get full permission:
-Right click on CVAcars folder
-Select "Properties" and then select "Security" TAB
-Select "Advanced"
-Select "Change Permission"
-Click on the user you want to edit and select "Edit"
-Click on the first box (FULL CONTROL) "Allow" and then OK
That should do it, you should have full control/permission on CVAcars (I hope)

Let me know how it goes JC.

Hi Pat,

Thanks for your help. All is going OK.
I have re-installed CVAcars then I followed the first part and I saw my badge appear as before since some weeks.
I am ready to fly again with CVA.

About the beer, you know, I have visited your country 4 times already, even Ontario, I went to Ottawa for vacation in 2010, so when
I come for the 5th time be sure that you will get your beer. I have tasted the "Belle Gueule" in Québec. I have appreciated it.
