The Ground services are by FSDT and in my view better and work at all FSX airports not just a few payware ones
http://www.fsdreamteam.com/products_gsx.html
As you can see it's working at CYXS.

Cal,
That looks good! The ground services certainly add to the feel of the airport. I've just downloaded the demo :D. And as always your shots look great!

Cal,

Thanks for showing me Prince George airport. Looks fun to land!! Strange, the runway does not look 11,700 foot long to me?? Maybe it is optical illusion???

I will try one day to fly into that airport in middle of powerful snowstorm.

Great great display of ground vehicles!!!

Aharon

The extension to the runway was completed in 2009 so unless you have updated airport scenery for YXS then you will only see the original 7500 foot runway in flightsim.

Ahhh that explains why it did not look 11,400 foot runway to me in Cal's screenshots!!!

DARN now I am off to look for updated scenery for CYXS to get 11,400 ft runway!!!!

Thanks to you for valuable info!!!

Why did they extend from 7,500 ft to 11,400 ft if Cal said the place is second smallest town in entire Canada and there is nothing worth to fly into???? I thought Prince Georges would offer nice scenery?? no?

Regards,

Aharon

Well not quite the smallest in Canada but nice to see in your rear view mirror. :) Westjet does fly there, and could be a good taking off spot for the north.

http://www.pgairport.ca/Airport_Info/updates.php

"The Prince George Airport Authority's runway project will see the main runway extend to 11,400 feet complete with center line lighting, dual ILS navigational systems and a dedicated deicing refueling pad for wide body aircraft and will allow the PGAA to market the airport as a transpacific techstop alternative to International air carriers. This will also enable carriers to consider Prince George for international passenger services. The runway will be open in fall of 2008."

Cal and Harry,

Thanks all for valuable explanations.

I do not understand "transpacific techstop alternative" statement. Is it some fancy word for refueling stop for flights across Pacific?? Or is it fancy word for refueling stopover for cargo planes just like Gander airport is official refueling stopover airport for all widebody cargo planes crossing Atlantic?? Or is it fancy wording for Prince George area trying to get into aircraft industry business by offering repair, rechecking, and painting services to all airlines?

Cal, matzel tov on your successful modification to runway but should it have four PAPI lights considering the fact that GA planes are always VFR flights and always visual landings??

And how in the hell did somebody put Shop Wiki advertisements on my signature?? I would like to know that!!

Aharon

Found software to update CYXS airport with correct runway length on flightsim.com as seen below:

FSX Scenery--Prince George
[ Download | View ]

Name: cyxs.zip Size: 507,130 Date: 05-06-2009 Downloads: 1,227
FSX Scenery--Prince George (CYXS), BC, Canada. Completely reconstructed based on Google Earth satellite images and current airport chart. Runways have been repositioned and runway 15/33 extended from 7400 feet to 11450 feet. ILS has been added to runway 33. Roads, parking areas and new buildings added. Aprons readjusted. Automated jetways added. Parking for AI aircraft and refueling truck added. Additional scenery objects have been added and to view these will require you to install additional files. Airport views are from the roof of the control tower. By Robert Catherall.

Happy downloading!!

Aharon
