Just flew this one, KMFR to OR73. OR73 is at 5089 ft and is 1627 Ft long and is quite the challenge.
Distance is 45 Nm and offers approaches simalar to Lukla but not so high.

Whoa!!! 1627? That's a little short for sure!!! Interesting - may have to check that out! :)

Great shots Cal!
when I heard "quite the challenge" I just had to go see for myself. So I took the Dynamic out and bee-lined it for Calvert Peak. I ended up coming in a little to fast because I got confused for some reason and thought the elevation of the airport was *5089* feet ;) instead of the actual 3779 feet that it sits at  ;) But I still managed to stop it short of the end of the runway. Great find!

Gary

Great find Cal! Flew this morning and got into weather that was all rain/whiteout clouds. Plan G got me there but the airport was totally fogged in. Crashed the plane and killed us all. My cousins in Portland say it's almost always raining in Oregon, so I scratched the weather program and flew fair skies. This time from Myrtle Creek (16S) because it's shorter.

Got up to 5,000 ft and flew over the Dutchman Butte fire tower, then across the ridges to the airport.

Think there's a reason for those x's on the runway ???
