you have to add your pilot ID number on second row of FACARS flight plan before starting (the same row where you fill specific number of passengers)

I would say check your firewall permisions. Must be able to allow FSACARS.

It's definately on my allow list in Windows firewall, just checked.

Now, when I set up FSAcars, my pilot number is listed as 008 (as found on the website) but when I fill out the flightplan portion, I set my callsign as CVA51. Could that be the problem, by chance?

Do not add your pilot number anywhere on the fsacars form. It is automatically set in the ini file. Adding your callsign anywhere there is just asking for trouble.

I would say that adding your callsign could most definitely be the source of your problems.

This is what I said originally.

On first row of FSCARS flight planning, the pilot ID number is there automatically BUT BUT BUT HOWEVER, on second row of FSCARS flight planner, the pilot ID number is not there. So adding that would make you visible on map. I always add pilot ID number on second row in every FSCAR flight planning and it never gave me problems while making my plane visible on flight map

You do not need to enter your pilot ID anywhere in FSAcars to appear on the map. If you have to, then you have unauthorized edits to your ini file.

Nope I did not touch it.

Go and check your FSCARS flight planner when you start flight. You can see pilot ID on first row of the planner but on the second row of the planner, the call sign is blank

Yes, it is blank. It's being blank has no bearing on whether you appear on the map or not.

Ok.. here's something interesting.

I took a really detailed look at the "quick start guide", just to see if I had messed something up. I noticed in the screenshots that "PILOT NUMBER" on the first row was listed at "CVA00somethingorother".

On MY Fsacars, my pilot number is simply 008, not CVA008... I have no trouble filing pireps, but could this be why I don't show in the Live Map?

I just thought about it! You have not flown on line in sometime. Well last fall there was some work done with the map page and the address of the FSAARS map reporting was changed your CVA.ini is outdated. Go to your Pilot center and download and install a new CVA.ini

It is the new CVA.ini..... I had to re-download and reinstall everything after upgrading to Win 7.

I shall try it again...
