Hello Folks,

Since we have started with this new system, some of the pilots may have concerns if they are doing there pilot reports correctly.

With this in mind, I have taken pen in hand and created a guide to help you see if you are on the right road.

You can find the guide here...

Quick Start Guide

I hope this helps any that may have had questions or concerns.

 Ha ha ha,,, Rob !!! You just crack me up sometimes !

What I meant was Chuck did a good job on the tutorial.

As for Frank , , , I feel really sorry that he can't see the great job that Chuck did. If I know Frank , he'll just fix , fix , fix , his computer and he will soon be able to see what Chuck did.

I just know he can do it !

I'm thinking that maybe that guide should be on the website somewhere too. Probably already is, but I don't see it with the other FSacars stuff....

Your guide is excellent and easy to follow. I followed it page by page and was doing good until the page where I except Flight / Refuse Flight.
My box looked the same except that my choices were OK / Cancel.
Thinking this might just be a matter of a latest update after you had created the guide I chose "OK".
But then it sent me the CVA website with a big notice that said "This Pilot Does Not Exist" "No Reports Have Been Found"

When I chose VA Flight it found all my information like you said it would and CVA # was the right one. I did not change AC and flew the one it had selected for me.

SSSS OOOOO I'm lost as to what to do now.
I filed manually

I can keep doing that but it would be a lot more fun to use your great features.

Hi Don
First you need to remove the FSACARS program. The go to the CVA web site and under (Pilot Center) tab search for "View Downloads" and click this, Click on the flight bag (Utilities).

Download and install KACARS. Make sure you have install FSUIPC, make sure the FSUIPC is correct for the version of FS you are using (FSX, FS9 and so on, get it here, http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html )

Start KACARS (you do not need FS to run to see the program) there are 4 tabs in KACARS.
PIREP page: Used for setting up your flight logging.
Online page: Used to see others who are logged into the KACARS server and has the ability to live chat with members.
Web Browser page: self explanatory
Schedule page: used to get flights and bid on them. Bids can also be done in (Pilot Center) tab of the CVA web site.

When you first start KACARS click on Info/settings at the top nav bar. When the window opens, neater Pilots ID and Password your ID is CVA0844.

Then you can go to the PIREP page. After click "Verify Log In Details". This will log you into the KACARS server. Start your flight Sim after you are all setup you can click "Connect to Flight Simulator"

If you have not bid on a flight at this time do so. Note your FS start airport should match your flight bid start airport.

When your bid and start airport are set up you can now click "Get Flight Bid Info" check you aircraft (you may change this to match what you are using for the flight) because there are numerous Class one aircraft and Clsaa2 and so on. Enter the flight altitude, Make sure the parking brake is set then you can click " Start Recording Flight"

The rest is self explanatory but just ask and we shall help you out. Also when you click “Start Recording Flight"
Look at the log it will tell you what is wrong or right.

I haven't been flying CVA for awhile but I just re did my computer and downloaded the KACARS again and installed, been looking at the forums and see that there have not been that many updates in any section but this one and I read this and I didn't even notice the changes to the KSCARS but man it is a big imrovement not having to go to the website anymore to pick a flight and there seem to be many more flights avalable from my dsetinations , one right after the other , I love it great job guys , going to be flying more CVA now . Keep it simple works for me
Thanks
