Is FSacars running while you edit the file?

It might be holding the file open if it is running. Move your mouse to the bottom of the desktop to raise the running task bar; check if FSacars is running there and close it.

If Fsacars is not running, make sure to check in windows task manager to make sure there isn't a ghost fsacars running in the background. I've had that happen before.

(ctrl-alt-delete to start task manager, click on Process tab, if a ghost FSacars is running, click on it and End Process)

Do not under any circumstances change your pilot number in FSAcars. Go to your pilot center and download your custom CVA ini file and place it in your FSAcars folder. No editing is required and any editing that you may do to it will result in errors trying to submit your pirep.

Please see the thread in this forum titled Quick Start Guide.
