I've had no trouble for a very long time, now I have an error when I go to submit my pirep - data error.

Anyone else have this problem all of a sudden, or is it just me. If it is just me, point me in the right direction.

Wow Bob! Maybe I can help, I want you to know it has been a long time I have used FSACARS. I use CVACARS it is much more stable. I believe your problem is your flight log is corrupt and it will not be accepted by the server. You will need to delete this before you can file any new pireps. I am not sure where it is stored. I am thinking it is the root directory of your hard drive. C:

Bob,

If you see any file that ends with .BAK or something (I forgot spelling but usually start with BA...), delete that file and you will be fine. The common problem with ANY VERSION or ANY CUSTOMIZED FSCARS is that if there is a file with .BAK or something (I forgot spelling), it will block PRIEP filing.

So whenever I do PREIP filing via FSCARS with any virtual airline and see that it says data error, I just go to FSCAR file folder and look for any file that has file format name .BAK and delete it.

The main reason file with .BAK file format happens is that when a pilot cancels the flight after completing it and landing on airport, FSCARS does not cancel it or does not forget about it. It stores cancelled flight in .BAK file format.

Aharon

Thanks for your responces guys. I'm not showing any .bak files. I think I'll just delete fsacars and install the custom cvacars and see what happens.

I'm getting real close to that 5,000 hr mark - and a little anxious to log every flight.

Okay Bob

Maybe you forgot to run FSCARS in administrator's rights?

I don't know what the deal is - things happen. Used fsacars for several years without any adjustments or issues. I did install the cva version and all is working again. I prefer the cva version for sure, guess I missed the announcement and have just not been paying too close attention.

Cool, Bob!!

As you have mentioned that you have not been paying too close attention to CVA forums, do not forget to participate in CVA weekly events on Saturday and Wednesday nights.

Info is posted on Departures and Arrivals subforum!!!

Aharon
