Talk about frustration!
It seems this bl***y CVACRS crashes every third or fourth flight or so  . I started using this program because some one told me that the other program was unreliable and not supported. Well, in my opinion it was a hell of a lot more reliable that this CVACARS piece of crap. I can tell you I am tired of spending two to three hours looking at the earth from 25000 feet just to have this piece of crap wipe it out at the end. There has got to be a more reliable way to record flights. If there isn't, I'm done!!!
Anyone have any suggestions????

Is this the Kacars version?

There's 2 available for download in the utility section.

I've been using Kacars on Win XP 32bit and now Win7 64bit without any problem.

Make sure to follow the instructions to the letter:
viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2459

I recommend you delete what you downloaded and uninstall what you have now. Then download a new version and follow that thread. Make sure to reinstall FSUIPC, this module gets overwritten by add-ons.

Do a short class 1 flight like this to test:

2059(PHJR - NPS)
Departure: 10:15 Arrival: 10:30
Equipment: B-350 (C-FKLJ) Distance: 8.32mi

Hi Hans,

Sorry to hear about your frustrations with this. We have to understand we have hundreds of members all with different hardware / software / patches / add ons / etc installed on their PC's and there is bound to be someone who will have problems. We did not write the software but it is one of the universal programs used out there today by many of the virtual airlines operating today. It has greatly improved reporting and operations here at CVA.

We also created these help forums to try and help anyone who has been experiencing problems with the software. While we are not experts, many of us have come across a number of issues and managed to help solve others problems along the way. It is not always a quick and easy fix so we ask you to have some patience and provide as much detail about the problem / symptom, hardware / software configuration, service packs installed, OS type, etc so that we can try to assist you.

Cheers!

Wierd. I think we've had only one or two others, if that, who haven't been able to get it to work. Anything "different" about your system that you can think of?

And by the way, anytime you want, you can send a record of your flight in manually. There's no need to lose credit for any flight.

cheers

I seem to be having issues as well. Before I am even able to reach my cruising altitude, kA comes in and says it's lost connection to my flight simulator and my simulator shuts down. Now I'm not sure if this is a kAcars problem or a sim problem, but any help would be highly appreciated.

I get the feeling that your sim is shutting down and causing the Acars to report the lost the connection. Can you fly without CVAcars without sim problems? Sorry I can't be of more help.

I see you where able to file a complete flight yesterday. Does this mean you got it to work? What is your system XP/Vista/7 . I think Rob is correct, it sounds like the sim is shutting down or locking up causing the ACARS to loose the connection. Did you add any scenery?

Mine has done this twice only. I feel it's FS crashing because it closes out, and than i get the error on CVAAcars.

Silly me, I didn't realize that I didn't have SP 1 & 2 installed on my computer (i recently updated). I installed the service packs and everything is working just fine now, was able to pull off Toronto to Sarnia last night. Now just waiting for an opportune time to fly out of Sarnia.

Thanks all for the help!

Sarnia?! I'm afraid no one flies out of Sarnia. Ever.

(It's kind of like Wawa that way, except for private pilots. Let us know how you get along there for the next 20 or 30 years!)
