Hello Frank;
I have still not been able to connect CVACARS to FS in FSX. I tried to connect in FS9 and everything worked OK.
I really don't know if FCIUP4 ( the FSX version ) is running. I have had it in FSX for quite a number of years and all my aircraft have been functioning OK so I always assumed it was doing it's job.
I don't really know what to do next. It was suggested to "right click and select run as administrator", but I don't know what to "right click" on??

Hi Herman, Just to fill in for Frank, right click on either the desktop icon for the program or the actual executable for the program in Windows Explorer and choose "Run as Administrator" You can also right click on either and set them to run as administrator all the time by choosing the "Compatibility" tab (in Windows 7 at least I'm not sure where it is in previous versions of Windows) and checking the box " Run this program as an administrator" located near the bottom of the dialog in the "Privilege Level" section.

Also, some add-ons have a nasty way of overriding FSUIPC with whatever old version they have in their installation files.
When something isn't working right, first thing you can do is reinstall FSUIPC.

Herman Hi Herman, Also note - there are 2 different versions of FSUIPC - one for FS9, and one for FSX in case you did not notice. You can check this on Pete Dowson's page. If you have both FS9 and FSX installed on the same machine, you will want to make sure you have the correct version (file) installed into the FS9 directory location and as well for the FSX directory location. Cheers!

OK....good news. I re-installed FSUIPC4 into FSX and FCARS is working OK now. I guess at some point in time it was cancelled.
Thanks again for your assistance.
