I really like this program so much I have abandoned Active sky. Finally I can accurate Weather and even overcast skies. The best part is that its freeware. I am posting some screen shots. Sorry about them being dark at night because I am usually in the air at night and I like flying in real time.

Here I am arriving Boston under overcast.

The WX says ovc at 2900 and scattered at 400

How were frame rates?

I stopped trying to get Active Sky X to work, I probably need to run a lot faster than 3.0GHz.

I'll hav to give it a try, so pissed at AS2012 It wasnt even close to being able to release,
to the "PAYING PUBLIC" winds are very jumpy, pouring rain and blues skys, + 40*C at
42000 ft PMDG engines just can't operate at those temps and altitudes.

The frame rates are great. This program runs very light. It takes half the time to load than active sky. I had a couple of problems at first when the WX loads (the wind shift where so bad it would crash my plane into overstress). Then I made the wind control into FSUIPC only. Before I had wind control in both program and FSUIPC. I have not tried wind in program only because I am satisfied with the settings. There is also an update in a couple of weeks to fix the slowed FS when weather is loading but for me this is not bad.

This is the general page weather downloads are at 15 minutes.

I am still searching for most realistic clouds without affecting my laptop's system resources.

And I am curious to see what icing in clouds looks like in your FSX or FS2004.

I've tried it briefly at the above settings. Seems like it should have been fine but it dropped my frames more so than Active Sky 12. It (weather and clouds) looked good. I already had a set of Active Sky textures loaded in-maybe it did not like that. I will work with it some more.

I'm really not having any problems with Active Sky 12 with DWC. It can also eat frames when the weather is intense, but it's been acceptable. Never flew up to 42000 though so don't know about the wind up there.
