Well I've taken the new pmdg 737 ngx for a test ride. It is clearly the most detailed sim aircraft on the market. An incredible piece of work that comes with 3,000 pages worth of OM. Here's a tip for anyone buying it. Search
Avsim for Michael Swannick. He's an ATP and has uploaded a 12 page flow/checklist specifically for the ngx (make sure you get the ngx not his earlier ng flow). It's a must have for this machine. Also, take the time to read the 100-page introduction (no kidding) it will save you some serious grief.

So it's out? I stopped waiting for that one a while ago. My guess is it will still be there in a year when I have some money to throw away, eh?

I'm going to pass on it (PMDG 737). I'm sure it's a great plane, but it's more detail than I want. I got the Ifly to replace my aging Wilco PIC 737, and I'm very happy with it.

Sounds like a great aircraft but the price $69.99 is a bit heavy. Like Rob, I'll be having a long look before putting out that kind of money. I have to admit that I love the PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies. It was pretty pricey also. This one is supposed to be their finest product as of yet. Time will tell.

Cheers Bill

I have the Ifly 737 and just picked up the 737 NGX PMDG. She is a beauty and very in depth system wise and highly custom via her controls and performance controls via the FMC. What can I say the 737 is my favorite tube AC in the sim and RW. I scapped my QW 757 payware to make room for the PMDG and also delayed another Orbyx purchase lol. I just cant resist the 737.

Now that I have gotten a little more used to the ngx, and I love the airplane, I don't think you can run our ACARS with it. PMDG warns about doing so, but I thought, heck I'd try and see for myself. Sure enough after about 45 minutes of prep, startup and taxi, I had a CTD on takeoff. It appears there may be a conflict between ACARS measuring fuel on board and the pmdg system. Too bad. It means I'll have to file pireps by hand.

Thank you for the HU Casey on the NGX. My Ifly 737X has no issues with the CVA Acars yet and im testing her out on vatsim under CVA code flight.

Gosh, I hope we can get this fixed.. I'm planning on flying this particular a/c a LOT. Does someone have the source code for CVAAcars?
I'd be happy to look at it if we do.

Oh.. also, has anyone painted this one yet? I'd love to see her in CVA colors. :)

I think both the Ifly and PMDG NGX would look excellent in CVA scheme. Here is the paint I use when flying CVA. Although the RCMP has other plans for me lol.

How's that again, Bill? Can you still say that after looking at this video?

I must admit it's easier for me to say no because I really don't have the time, so I just can't learn and fly to many a/c. But it's fun watching the vids anyway!

Does anyone else have trouble actually completing a flight without the pmdg crashing fsx?
It did it so many times, I switched back to the ifly last night (which I love the wide screen 2d panels btw).

Wouldn't the processing of this plane bring FPS down even more? It looks EXTREMELY intricate and detailed, I would think that involves a lot of extra background processing. Or would that only happen in virtual cockpit?

I've seen a lot of 3D cockpit, can we bring up all those controls in 2D?

I think we have a max of 10 panel keys in FS-X, unless FSUIPC can work around that and add panels.

I have both the Ifly and PMDG NGX for FSX. I get excellent fluid frames in the VC and the hud reacts faster then the Ifly. Now my Ifly VC is known for some lag in the fluid frames.

Ok. took the plunge and purchased the iFly 737NG for FSX. So far I'm loving it.
Looked closely at the PIC 737 Evolution and decided against it due to a couple of less than impressive reviews, also the PMDG 737NGX and decided it would require a computer upgrade.
