Plan G's been mentioned already in a few threads. Anyone else like it? I'm having a blast doing VFR flights with it. And it's free! Since it uses Google maps:

-- you can plot a flight plan to go up canyons, river valleys, etc. Or you can just plot a straight line from airport to airport and use the map to hand fly the terrain. Second monitor recommended but not necessary. Great for stuff like the Pan-Am multi's. I've only just started using it. It still has a few bugs on my system, but there is a forum running and I think it's going to end up being a good product. Check it out at - http://www.tasoftware.co.uk/index.htm

I checked it ou breifly, but didn't play too much with it. I can see where it would be excellent for vfr, especially when lacking actual vfr charts. Once I'm back in the west (flirting with maritime weather right now) I'll have to check it out more.

Hi Barry
So far for me Plan-G has been a blast as well! Funny you should mention the Pan-Am Charter I'm about 2/3's of the way through it using Plan-G. I just charted the whole route in one plan and open it every time I fly a leg.

Just thought I'd add a link to the basicPan American Charter flight plan that I created in case anyone is interested. It's just a matter of unzipping it to your hard drive and navigating to it from within Plan-G by clicking the Yellow aircraft application button in the upper top left of the program and choosing "Open Flight Plan" from the drop down.

Barry, you find the coolest toys. Freeware too! I just downloaded it. I'll check it out later today.

Thanks to you too Gary for the Pan AM flight plan. I'll stick that in first.
