Hello,

I've found a nice flight planning program recently, named Plan-G. This program works with FSX, FS2004 and X-Plane 9 and 10. Click here to download.

Quick start:

1. Run the setup program and open the program
2. Create a database for either FSX, FS2004, X-Plane 9/10 or any combination of them. Once the database is completed, select one of them for data view.
3. Select which data to view (Map tab).
4. Begin flight planning!

To add an item to the flight plan, right-click on it and select "Add the item to flight plan" (n-b: may not be exactly that. I am writing here what I think, since my computer is French and the program automatically went to French and you can't change it...)

In the Home tab, you can search for airports, intersections, VOR and NDBs. You can even search for adresses with the map functionallity. Talking of maps, you have a selection of 5 maps (No Google Maps here). You can change the map provider in the File>Settings>General tab.

Files are saved by default under the .plg extension. You can export the flight plans to .pln (FSX/FS2004), .fms (X-Plane) and .snip (Plan-G snipet).

Added here are all the 32 flight plans for the Pan American Charter under the .plg extension. After downloading Plan-G, you will be able to export them to .pln (FSX), possibly other extensions (not guaranteed as I only have a FSX database). Click here to download.

If you have other flight planning programs that you would like to add to the list, don't hesitate to post a reply!

I've been using Plan G for about a year and a half now.

Make sure you buy your ticket under the exact name that appears on your ID. It might seem obvious to you that Betsy is a nickname for Elizabeth, but it may not to a skycap, a desk agent, or a security officer―any of whom could ask you to show ID with that name before boarding.
