I spent 20 years in the Forces and every year we had a family day where we invited spouse and kids
to work so they can see static display of different vehicles, equipment that we use and have a better idea
of what we do at work.

Now, my oldest (who fallowed is dad's foot steps) invited us to his family day and that's what we did
yesterday, he put our names down to go up for a ride in a CH-147F Chinook.

I recorded a few short videos that I pasted back to back. It's raw footage
but it gives you a good idea so please visit my channel and have a look.

That's cool, takes me back to my old days as a crew chief flying in Huey's nap of the earth.

Ya, we had a blast. The weather was perfect no wind, no turbulence, nothing. One thing I realized when we walked to the chopper was that I missed was the smell of jet fuel burning. I worked refueling CF-18 before I got posted to a field unit where I got to play in the mud with trucks...that was fun too

That was beautiful - Always wanted to join the Air Force - but could not even attempt because of eyesight issue. I can only imagine what a amazing feeling that would be - riding that heli.
