Post subject:  FSX Steam?

Hi.
I moved from FS9 to FSX but I got the Steam version (download).
FSX works, but damned if I can figure out how to get any add-ons loaded.
Can't get Squawk Box working with it, can't get any of the CVA Planes loaded into it.
Does anybody have any experience with FSX Steam, does this work with CVA and Vatsim etc?
Thanks for your help.
Will

The problem with steam is that any auto installers that was built for FSX wont work because the path was changed for the FSX steam files. You are better to extract the files in a work folder you create then manual in stall them to Steam's FSX. Also Squawkbox does not work with Steam, only application for this is Vpilot. You can get this on the Vatsim site

For those who have installed it have you noticed any marked improvement over the regular install of FSX? I had looked at it (and there is a sale on for US $4.99 right now) but figured there would be some issues other than a nice and simple installer and a few small updates. Unless there is something earth shattering / game changing with it in terms of performance / graphics or otherwise I am happy to stay with my existing tweaked installation :)

Cheers!

I've been doing a lot of graphic testing lately using FSX steam (was lucky to get in at $5 special). Haven't had a single windows crash yet, but haven't played with add-ons except for a few minutes of Level-D 767, which worked fine.

Overall, FSX Steam seems to run smoother.
