Just checked my inbox this afternoon and found an email from JustFlight. It seems this Saturday, the 20th of April, you can purchase and download the Pilot Edition of the Majestic Dash 8-Q400.

The price is a "little" more reasonable at $59.99.

More details here!http://www.justflight.com/product/dash-8-q400-pilot-edition-fsx-download

Chuck,

Thanks for the information regarding the Majestic Dash 8-Q400.

As the new site is over, I would like to know if you can put the french flag at the line location just before "Guadeloupe", as well as on my Badge as the island is a French Region and belongs to France.

Best Regards

JC

This is one of those "just take my money" moments! I've been waiting YEARS for this release!

Downloading now... I'll have to clear out the old repaint hanger!

First flight complete. Vancouver to Prince George. Went very well, even with my hand flown approach to landing. A few little quirks though. Couldn't get the FMS to calculate altitudes. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. Also had an issue tuning VOR2 from the pedestal. Had to do it from the FMS TUNE page. Again, I'm sure it's me missing something...

Now to dig out a paint kit for this thing!

Not too crazy about the nose wheel steering...have it set to the spoiler axis...need to do some more investigating on that. Just did a quick circuit around CYXU before supper. Gonna dig into things a little deeper now.

Well, I have the nose wheel steering figured out but it is a little bit strange steering with the ailerons. I couldn't get the FMS to do the VNAV either so a little research is in order as well.

There is no VNAV while ascending. Once level at cruise altitude, you can enter the VNAV page to set DESCENT VNAV calculations. Click the LSK3 button next to the TO flag. Then, Pick from the list, the way point you want to calculate the descent too (This must be a waypoint in your flight plan). Press ENTER (moves the cursor to the Offset range option. I don't mess with this.) Press Enter again and the cursor highlights the target altitude box. If blank, enter the desired altitude here. If there's already an altitude shown here and it's acceptable, just hit ENTER again and the cursor will jump up to the V/S selection area. Set it as desired (1800 fpm?).

So, for instance, once at cruise I click VNAV button, then LSK3. It highlights the next waypoint in my flightplan. This is NOT the waypoint I want to descend to so I choose LIST. I then find my Initial Approach Fix (IAF) from my approach plate. ENTER, ENTER and notice that 4000 is already in here. This matches my altitude constraint on my plate so ENTER again. 1800 is already in the v/s spot so I hit ENTER again.

TOD is now shown on the VNAV page as well as on my PFD.

2 minutes from the TOD the descent path will go active on the EADI. I change my altitude to 4000' and select VNAV from the autopilot panel. At the TOD, the plane begins to follow the calculated descent.

Hope that helps... Took a ton of reading to figure that all out! :D

Very nice system rendition of the Dash series 8. I am very impressed. Just finishing my first short test flight with no acras yet on Prepar3D as I don't use FSX anymore due to USCG regualtions on us pilots in off time with simulators. Thank goodness for Lockheed. Will take 2nd flight on CVA acars and go YZF-YEV Class 2 just a HU for the hub manager at CYVR. I dont have or cant see any Class 1 routes for YVQ or YEV out of YZF and need some as I prowl the Arctic.
