This DC-3 is Parked at Opa Locka Airport in Miami, Florida since 2 years. It flew in from Venezuela around 2009. We have the log books in our possession. It was bought at the court house in Miami Dade County. The plane has clear title. It is being sold in As-Is condition. Buyer will be responsible for taking the delivery from the Airport. The rear wing has been placed in the Plane 6 months ago due to loose hinghes. Please make all inspections prior to bidding. The deposit and payment will have to be wired to our account.

Plane History:

AC-15847 as a C-47-DL with s/n 41-19492, the aircraft was delivered to the USAAF on January 24, 1943, and the following April 1, allocated to the Tenth Air Force in India. On May 1, it was reassigned to the India China Wing, Air Transport Command. On April 10, 1946 it was transferred to the government of India.

Struck off charge it was registered in the USA as a DC-3 N9080C but not used as such while remaining in India. It was registered VT-DGU in India by the Hindustan Aircraft Company in June 1953, while in April 1955 is was registered YA-AAC to the Afghanistan airline Ariana Afghan Airlines of Kabul.

Seventeen years later, on December 30, 1972, it was acquired by the Canadian airline Lambair Ltd. of The Pas, Manitoba which provided cargo, charter and scheduled service. It was ferried by the late Jack Lamb from Kabul, via Europe, to Thompson Airport, Manitoba, Canada, in 55 flying hours, and re-registered as DC-3-S1C3G CF-DBJ on March 28, 1973.

The aircraft is pictured in the aftermath of landing on thin ice of Tadoule Lake, Manitoba on May 24, 1975, two months after its arrival in Canada. The aircraft was raised with inflatable bellows, and appeared undamaged, and was subsequently flown out. It was re-registered C-FDBJ in January 1980.

In October 1982 C-FDBJ was sold to Perimeter Airlines, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, to be canceled from the Canadian register on May 11, 1988 as sold in the USA. The same month it was registered to Venezuelan airline Aeroejecutivos SA of Maiquetia as YV-500C, being reregistered YV202T in March 2006, and became YV-1854 in early 2007. In 2008, the aircraft was placed in storage at Opa-Locka Executive Airport, Miami, Florida, USA and as of 2010.

As I'm from Yellowknife, no Buffalo isn't going to incur the cost of the DC3 and transport fees. If anything they would buy it for parts and have parts shipped, which would be cheaper. Bets are Baslar BT67 conversions in Oshkosh WI will get her somehow. If they dont a USCG group will grab it and donate it to a museum. By the way KOPF is a main USCG base and home to Armed intercept units and Impound yard. Takes a Court house to clear anything for sale we seize. One can find all kinds of Old aviation there just waiting for home or to be scrapped for parts.
