opps, sorry. You must have to be registered with the Orbx Forum. Anyway they are talking about Orbx Global scenery coming out this (2013) year.

Here is some of the text:

In 2013 we will be releasing a FTX product that covers the entire world with FTX textures combined from the twelve different regions we have developed since 2008 including England. It won't be a perfect solution like a "full-fat" FTX region because it is predominately textures only. However, it will cover the whole globe with Orbx so you never have to experience FSX default textures again.

What does FTX Global include?

Complete replacement of FSX ground textures
Custom autogen houses and objects
3D lights with FTX Day/Night Mode support
Selection of custom trees
Replaces default FSX so you can run with FTX Central set to EU, NA etc
Can be uninstalled so you can revert to default FSX
Some custom landclass in sample areas initially (can be disabled if desired)
Perpetual free updates (textures, landclass tweaks, POI objects, upgraded default airports)
Dedicated staff working on upgrades full-time

What does FTX Global NOT include?

Geographical and vector data (roads, rivers, coastlines, elevation mesh)
Full hand-crafted landclass and polygon landclass
Unique ground textures native to the area you're flying in
Upgraded airports everywhere
Traffic on all major roads (only default FSX traffic)

What does it look like?

I am testing a pre-alpha build at the moment and I can promise you most of the places I randomly pick to visit around the world look beautiful covered in Orbx textures. I did a dusk flight over the south of France last week and to see all the 3D lights twinkling over villages and towns was magical. I have included a selection of screenshots below.

The Geographical and vector data would be nice,
I think the elevation mesh sets them ahead of all the other scenerys.

Pretty sure they are going to charge money for this..... :)
Oh well, you'll be able to see our COOL, EXTRA, WORLD EXCLUSIVE screenshots.

The screenshots look terrific. $195 seems reasonable. No mention of Prepar3d at all though. That would start getting steep anyways :)

Somewhere on the forums there they have stated dual installer FSX-Prepar3D. Im leaning as Prepar3D is being offered. I'm just holding out to see pics of the Canadian Arctic and Siberia with the rest of the America's.

It will be dual installer for both FSX and Prepar3D.

New FTX regions coming in 2013 include Alaska and Northern California. :D :D :D

Unreal how this fsx thing keeps kicking even though no longer in business. Fight models are done, so I suppose future version would only add better scenery anyway.

$195 is a lot of money for me, but to have Orbx scenery everywhere I go!

Reading the forums and even on the FLIGHTSIMSTORE I have heard Orbx England has a lot of problems.

$195 is a lot of money for you and me both! Sigh, but like you said..........."everywhere I go!"

Don't forget it's 2013 now Rob, time to change over from "15 years old" :)

Happy "back to work again" season to you :(
Gary

Doesn't sound too good at all. Obviously it isn't up to the usual high Orbx standard. This is the first Orbx release I've seen that the simming community doesn't like.

The Orbx world sounds awesome, but it's a bit expensive. I suppose I'll read the reviews and make up my mind.

I got the impression they were just going to apply their own textures to the existing FSX world tile system. Should either work or not work for the whole world, no?
