Ok, i have enough to go to Walmart and buy a brand new laptop to replace my current one with FS9 on it, I was just wondering what one you guys would recomend for FSX because i'd like to get a copy of FSX after i get a new Laptop? here are my options:
1) Acer Laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium , AMD E300 Processor (1.3Ghz Duel Core), 4 GB DDR3 Ram, 500GB HD, ATI Radeon HD 6310 Graphics - http://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/acer-aspire-156-notebook-computer-with-amd-e-300-13ghz-processor-grey/10061195?trail=&fromPLP=true&ancestorID=&searchString=&moduleName=&startSearch=&fromSearchBox=&addFacet=12002%3A250.00-500.00
http://www.acer.ca/ac/en/CA/content/model/LX.RJY02.159

2) HP 200-320ca with Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-Bit, AMD Dual-Core E-300 VISION Technology from AMD 1.3 GHz, 1 MB L2 cache, 4GB DDR3 Ram, 320 GB SATA (5400 rpm), AMD Radeon HD 6310, http://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/hp-156-laptop-computer-2000-320ca/167309?trail=&fromPLP=true&ancestorID=&searchString=&moduleName=&startSearch=&fromSearchBox=&addFacet=12002%3A250.00-500.00#product-info-features

or this one for $30 Less:

3) Toshiba Satellite C650D with Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, Intel® Pentium® B960 Processor – 2.2 GHz, 640GB HDD S-ATA, Unsure about Graphics: http://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/toshiba-156-laptop-pc-intel-pentium-b960-processor-22-ghz-genchaku-black-c650-054/10066045?trail=&fromPLP=true&ancestorID=&searchString=&moduleName=&startSearch=&fromSearchBox=&addFacet=12002%3A250.00-500.00
if that one is not available than theres one that's $20 less with the AMD E300 Duel core @ 1.3 Ghz and 500GB HD
http://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/toshiba-156-notebook-pc-with-amd-e-300-13ghz-processor-genchaku-black-c650d-04h/10066069?trail=&fromPLP=true&ancestorID=&searchString=&moduleName=&startSearch=&fromSearchBox=&addFacet=12002%3A250.00-500.00

I Have $215 in Walmart Gift Cards from Christmas i could use plus $215 Cash for a total of $430 to spend on a new laptop, but it has to be from Walmart, those ones i posted are ones i posted as a example on what's available now in my price range.

I am afraid you are going to need more powerful laptop. You need to pay attention to revolutions per minute for hard drive disk.

Seek time is a real slowdown in FSX, I would look for at least 3.0 or higher GHz or you will be disappointed in the frame rates.
I have a Desktop windows 7 64bit I7, 3.4 GHz, 12 gigs of ram, GForce 960 Video card and I run about 40 to 50 fps, my Hard drive is 7200RPM and the Hard drive is the bottle neck for me with sliders all maxed, there is still a few places that drag it down to a slideshow. I need a SSD.

I think if Walmart is trying to sell a laptop by saying it comes in Charcoal Grey.................hmmmmm that'll look great with FSX....... :P Time to run, I don't think you will be at all happy.
Best to save your money and get a better system that you would be happy with.

7,200 rpm is better than 5,400 rpm I wish you go for 6 or 8 GB ram and 512 mb dedicated video ram.

Are you student?? If so, you can get laptops at student prices. Also softwares at student prices.

Why not ask Darryl to have his computer company build a laptop for you for a reasonable fee?

Good luck to you!!!

And my laptop although 3 years old is HP Pavilion DV6885E Special Edition laptop with T8100 Centrino Duo Core 2.10 GHZ with 3 GB ram, 250 GB with 7,200 revolutions per minute, 256 mb dedicated video ram NVIDIA GeForce 8400 M GS, 1248x800 resolution, and Vista Premium.

This runs nicely WITHOUT fancy payware add-ons.

If you want fancy payware addons, you gonna need more powerful laptop.

My next laptop would be 8 or 16 mb ram, 750 GB or 1 TB hard disk with 7,200 rpm, 1 o2 2 GB dedicated video ram, and 1248x800 resolution and highest possible Intel processor.

You can get the idea.

Cal is right on this one... If you get the 5400 rpm hard drive you WILL kick your ass later...

i'm currently not in highschool due to me being 23 but i'm going to a adult/continuing education school to finish getting my grade 12 to help me get a job. I'm Also with Ontario works who will help me get a job. I can't get much more money but i could maybe get a extra $50-150 by selling some stuff. My current Laptop is a HP G50-211ca that's at least 3 years old that i bought New from future shop for $480 at the time and i don't have much space left on the harddrive plus even with FS9 with the Addons/AI Traffic i have it's not the fastest with the settings maxed. maybe if i do get a new laptop i could run FS9 for the time being and as i get some money i could maybe work on slowley upgradeing it to be good with FSX. also, anyone know of any big name stores that take laptops in on trade for another Laptop to get a discount because i wouldn't mind doing that either as long as i could have my data Transfered from the old laptop to the new one.

Your best bet is to drive across border to America to shop at Best Buy and drive back home to Canada. Your Canadian currency rate is in your favor and prices in America are a lot cheaper than in Canada. I might be wrong in that theory but I do not think so.

My 2.4GHz quad Q6600 is at 3.0GHz and I have to turn off a lot of candy to get a steady 30fps when there's a few planes on the ground around me.

3.0 is a minimum, you can't have too much GHz for FS-X.

Why waste time or money on used laptop???? Laptops or computers have lifetime span of between 3 and 5 years. Also, the Dell model has no dedicated video ram. Tell him or her to sell that Dell laptop to 6 year old kid who wants to open lemonade business and needs laptop to keep track of revenues and profits.
