Howdy Gents,

Great multi last night - love VFR flying and going through the mountains! That was a treat!!!

I wanted to try out some of the freeware ORBX scenery after the multi and saw all of those beautiful screenshots so I downloaded the one for 2S1 (Vashon Island). I installed it but for some reason it still looks fairly FSX stock to me. I have Ultimate Terrain Canada / USA also installed and I went into the FSX scenery setup to see if ORBX was listed but didn't see it. I figured it would put it's own in, or, follow Addon Scenery (which I moved to the top of the list).

Still no joy...

Any ideas?

Cheers!

Did it come with the FTXCentral tool for activating the correct region (north america vs default world)?

Nope - not the freeware version. Only comes with the Vashon Island (2S1) control panel - this enables Airshow and selects custom trees. Otherwise...nothing.

I.ve always thought that the airports. free and pay. require the region to be installed. So for a demo. dload the PNW. region freebie.

There are complications to removing the free scenery before installing the bought stuff. I stongly suggest you go ahead and buy at least one of the packages - the price is too good to miss. I started with the BC Interior (Rocky Mountains North), but got two of the coastal zones as well when the price went to 40% off.
