for example, All Pilots with 10+ Hours GOT TO FLY ON VATSIM OR IVAO!
so far with all the other VA's i checked out, CVA is by far the best.
one VA i was with i was completely removed for being inactive
another VA you have no choice but to fly on VATSIM or on some other Online Server due to a Online ACARS Thing
and now this VA i'm posting about, i like the freedom of choosing your own route along with choosing where you depart and land from, but the fact that Pilots with 10+ Hours got to fly online is killer for me with me having Vista+Antivirus and FS9 so i can't really get on VATSIM unless i sign up for IVAO but i think the Problem got to do with FSINN,Vista and FS9, i think VATSIM or IVAO got nothing to do with it because i could still connect with SQB although when i connect, i can't see the online Traffic so i would be risking colliding with other planes, mainly at busy airports.

i feel better now that i can see online traffic even though i have FS9 on a laptop with Vista and Norton 360 anti-virus just by opening 2 ports in window's firewall, thanks to the people in the other VA i'm a member of that got the 10+ hr pilots must fly online rule by posting the problem in their forums and i had some help from them. now then, why would there be a Canjet B738 be parked at the terminal at CYYZ when Vataware shows it inbound for CYYZ Departing from CYUL?

it was the only plane in all of CYYZ, there is normally TONS of AI Planes there, plus it was in FS9 Multiplayer mode. i would Guess a problem with Vataware or the Pilot mixed up the departure and arrival airports.

Personally, I can't stand VATSIM (too many assholes with power trips) and prefer private servers although flying in Canada and the U.S. is usually a nice experience.

As for tracking hours - I suppose its more about validating what you're doing more than anything else.

Norton 360 anti-virus

Get rid of that! It bogs the system down big time, no wonder you cant get online very easy.
I have been online for almost a year with this computer, with no anti-virus installed. and nothin' happened
I just recently install Windows Defender Free from Microsoft, I keep it updated and don't go to
questionable sites or click on any popups :P
I also run a router.

I think the problem stems with 'those people' who are a bit OCD when it comes to Vatsim/simming/VA's. Without naming names, I was involved in a flightsim event over here in Britain and ending up walking out because the guy in charge was so ruthless about 'getting it right' that he actually started yelling at people (including me) if proper procedures weren't followed.

I simply stood up, told him that I was taught to sim by real pilots (he was not) and considering that this was just a hobby: he should get a bloody life!

This did not go down well...as you can imagine.

VA's are about having fun first, making friends second, learning third and aspiring towards professionalism fourth.

The guys that get upset about it are the ones who don't have what it takes to hack it in the real world of aviation and are simply venting their bitter, pathetic vile at anyone who looks at the virtual side for what it is: a hobby.
